Checking chain wear
According to Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN) the way to check chain wear is to grab the chain at the back of the rear sprocket and pull it away from the sprocket. If you can expose half a tooth, replace the chain. Chain manufacturers will specify just a quarter tooth.
