Dat Badger

Honey Badger that is!

I'm not a "new" face persay, but definitely new to some of you, so figured I'd post up an intro about myself!

I started riding in 2005 in WI, and moved to California the next year where the riding bug took on a whole new meaning. Rode street for a number of years, finding Curve Unit along the way (2008/09 ish???). Rode with CU and other groups regularly, then won a pass through CU to the Women's VIP track day with Z2.

That laid the foundation for the crazy life I now lead. I got bit by the track bug HARD, and started doing trackdays in 2012, getting my AFM license at the end of 2012. 2013 and 2014 my personal life and finances took a pretty big hit, so I stepped away from Curve Unit in hopes of pursuing racing (not much of which happened until late in 2014).

2015 and 2016 I ran full AFM seasons on my 2007 Triumph 675. I still had a street bike through most of this as well. By the end of 2016 the bike was actually holding me back (never thought I'd see that day), so I decided to get my dream race bike, figuring I may be controlled enough by that point not to kill myself instantly on it, so I bought a brand new 2017 ZX10R and turned it into a race bike with less than a mile on the odometer.

The very next day after picking up my dream bike, I broke my leg, resulting in a pilon fracture. 2017 was a year of dealing with the complications from that, and while I made it to the races I could, I made some big mistakes along the way in terms of bike set up, etc. Add in the stress with the situation with my leg, and I wasn't really in a place to improve or learn the new bike as efficiently as I had hoped I would.

Thankfully my leg and I pulled through, it's still attached and seems to be doing okay, and 2018 is looking like a much better year.

I have missed my CU girls, however, and realized that I'm finally in a financial (and time) position where I could fit CU back into my life (with some scheduling around races and the like). Reached out to Amy about my thoughts, and then hung out with all of you at the Christmas Party! Looking forward to seeing your lovely faces in the new year and becoming a part of CU again!!
