The Security Guard

#1 Post by Jackie » Mon Jan 23, 2012 2:17 pm

A security guard was in charge of checking the contents of everything that passed through his gate at closing time. The guard was suspicious of one worked in particular who always left the plant with a wheelbarrow filled with sand. The guard filtered through the sand, but he could never find anything. The guard even had the sand analyzed to see if it had some kind of hidden value. This went on for fifteen years and the guard could never catch the worker stealing anything. The guard finally retired and forgot the whole thing.

The retired guard was sitting in a bar one evening when the suspicious worker seated himself at the other end of the bar. The guard picked up his beer and walked over to the worker. “I know you’re a thief, but I could never catch you stealing anything. Level with me. You were stealing something, weren’t you?

The worker smiled. Yes I was, but I was way too clever for you.

The guard lips tighten. I can’t do anything about it now, so tell me,
what were you stealing?

The worker’s smile widened. “Wheelbarrows.”
