If there would be a way to share gas and hotels, I'd totally sign up, but paying to drive my truck down there alone makes paying for a day closer to home a bit more of an option...even a "free" trackday isn't free, especially with tires and such figured in, and my grad school budget is still extremely tight...then again, if I could get it to where I'm splitting gas/hotel/etc several ways plus a free day, it may become economically feasible....

I talked to Mark Wednesday night, and there was only 1 "free ladies" spot left for 11/15. Did any of you gals take advantage of this?

I signed up and took a spot before I received you message. But I will say it was a step in faith because I didn't ask for the time off and I'm assuming I'm riding my bike down to Buttonwillow and tracking on my stock tires? I'm totally green to what track totally entails but after looking at people's track photo albums, looking forward to the adventure. I'm down for sharing a room and eating cheap food.

You'll be absolutely fine on your stock tires for your very first track experience. Once you have a few under your belt and carrying significantly more speed, then you may want to think about upgrading rubber. I would highly recommend NOT riding your bike down there. Hook up with one of your CU sisters in their truck or trailer. I would offer a spot, but my trailer is full already. Ask Breanna, Jeannette, or Wren about finding space for you and your two-fiddy baby. :D

Okay! I felt the pressure and finally signed up for the November 15th trackday. I also signed up for the first-time rider class.
I just got a new back protector so now all I need are some good riding pants. It'll be tight, but I've wanted to do this for a long time.
Now all I've got to do is save my pennies!
Should be fun!

I believe they're all at Button Willow down by Bakersfield.
