October OPEN Ride - Slayin' The Dragon & Beyond

#1 Postby Fanny Fligurl » Sat Sep 22, 2018 2:07 pm

MARK YOUR CALENDARS ladies and gents, because CU has a surprise in store for you! It's the Lil' Dragon that you all can't wait to slay, but her powerful tail is taking us on a brand new adventure!

MEET DETAILS
Fruit Yard - 7948 Yosemite Blvd., Modesto, CA 95357 (Gas up here)
Meet @ 10 am, KSU promptly @ 10:30 am

ROUTE DETAILS
Head East on Yosemite (33 m)
GAS STOP @ Valero then return to 132 into Coulterville (11 m)
RIGHT on 49 / Little Dragon (14 m)
REST / REGROUP @ observation area (squeeze in a couple hot laps for those interested)
Continue on 49 / Little Dragon towards Mariposa (12.7 m)
RIGHT on 140W (12 m)
RIGHT on Hornitos Rd. in Catheys Valley (12.1 m)
RIGHT on Bear Valley Rd. (10 m)
LEFT on HWY49 (15.1 m)
LEFT on 132 (21.2 m)
Arrive @ Louie's Place - 30048 Yosemite Blvd., LaGrange
140'ish miles of smiles!

Slight change in lunch plans. Ride will conclude at one of our favorite spots, Louie's Place in LaGrange. Cold beer, good food, and great company.

Arrive rested, hydrated, properly geared, and legal. CU rolls w/ sweep vehicles in the unfortunate event the Lil' Dragon bites someone, not to pick up your moto from the impound yard. A special note of caution to newbies, this route is challenging due to sheer distance and physical/mental demand. With that said, we welcome all skill levels to give it a go. We divide the whole into smaller/safer groups according to your comfort level.

This day is going to be epic, and we can't wait to see you all!

Goodmorning, apologies again for bad social media skills... My locals are balking about riding up 99 to join the ride in modesto. We are thinking of joining up at the 'observation, or lookout point' 'where the little dragon starts'. How practical would it be for us to join the ride at the observation point? But we are not quite sure exactly where that observation point is or what time we would need to be there to join
the curve unit ride. Is there a crossroad near the obseevation point? Please advise, sincerely, michelle.

So glad we connected via text Michelle and that you got my dropped pin of where the Observation Point is located. We expect to be there around Noonish.

Really looking forward to seeing you and the crew.
